Ignatian Spirituality - a spirituality for our lives and times
Canisius was established in 1939 as a Theological College in the formation of Australian Jesuits. In the mid 1970’s it became a Retreat House with a focus on giving and training others to give the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola.
Today we warmly welcome all who seek a time of reflection, rest, spiritual conversation, contemplation and prayer, and in particular those seeking a deeper friendship with Jesus and a personal inner spiritual journey for engagement in the world.
Our spiritual directors offer directed and non-directed silent retreats (ranging from 1 to 30 days); theme retreats to nurture faith and prayer; prayer and reflection days and ongoing spiritual direction.
God is in solidarity with and in the service of all created things. In this reality we live and move forward in life, always mindful to become free, at ease with ourselves and led by the particular grace given to us.
